How much does a storage unit cost at Squarefoot?
You only pay for the size you need – from CHF 5 per week (CHF 20 per month). Billing is monthly. All prices below are live from our system, excl. 8,1% VAT, plus a one-off registration fee of CHF 40. No deposit surprises, no hidden extra costs.

Discounts and special offers cannot be combined. In the case of prepayment, the contract continues monthly after expiry.

What affects the price of a storage unit
Size: Billing is based on volume (m³) or area (m²) of the box. With us, you don't pay for gross area with pillars or pipes – the dimensions stated are usable.
Location: A box in the city centre costs more than one in an industrial area. But you are at your belongings in ten minutes. We have both – central locations and cheap alternatives in the surrounding area.
Term and payment: Pay 6 or 12 months in advance and get a 5% or 10% discount. Our minimum rental period is 30 days – after that you have monthly flexibility.
How big does my box need to be?
Rule of thumb: 10 medium moving boxes need about 1 m³. The contents of one room fit into around 5 m³, a 2-room flat into 10–15 m³, a family home into 30–40 m³. For every box, we show you the interior dimensions and roughly what fits inside. And if it's not enough: switching to a larger box is possible at any time.
Questions about prices & contract
Is there a deposit?
There is no separate deposit for online bookings paid by card. For contracts paid by invoice, up to three months' rent can be agreed as security – this is shown transparently in the contract before you sign.
Are prices inclusive of VAT?
The displayed price for each box indicates whether it is inclusive or exclusive of VAT (all prices excl. 8,1% VAT as standard in this market). There are no additional fees.
Can I cancel monthly?
Yes. After the minimum rental period of 30 days, you can cancel at the end of any month. In the case of prepayment, the contract continues automatically on a monthly basis after the paid months expire.
How do I pay?
Online by credit card (Visa, Mastercard) or by invoice via bank transfer. At many locations, you complete the booking directly with card payment and receive your PIN immediately.
What happens if I don't pay the rent?
We will contact you personally first. If rent remains unpaid for longer, access to the box will be blocked until the arrears are cleared – as required by law. Talking helps: give us a call and we'll find a solution.
