The protection of your personal data is of particular concern to us. We therefore process your data exclusively on the basis of legal regulations (FADP 2018, GDPR, TCA 2003). In this privacy notice, we inform you about the most important aspects of data processing on our website.
Please read this policy carefully as it explains how we collect, process and store your personal data. Every access to our website and every retrieval of a file stored here is logged. Storage serves internal system-related and statistical purposes. The following are logged: name of the retrieved file, date, time of retrieval, amount of data transferred, notification of successful retrieval, web browser, requesting domain, IP address of the requesting computer, search terms, (...)*. We process and store all personal data that you transmit to us in the context of e-mail enquiries (e.g. name, address, e-mail address, phone number, etc.) to handle the requested contact and for further customer relationship management. This data is stored with us until you submit a written request for deletion.
Further personal data is only recorded if you provide details voluntarily, as part of an enquiry or registration, to conclude a contract, or via your browser settings. If we pass on data to external service providers, appropriate technical and organisational measures are taken to ensure that the transfer complies with statutory data protection provisions.
1. Contacting Us
1.1. When contacting us by e-mail, the user's details are stored for the purpose of processing the enquiry and in the event that follow-up questions arise.
1.2. We will not pass on this data without your consent, unless this is necessary for the performance of a contract or to carry out pre-contractual measures. Without this data, we cannot conclude the contract with you. This applies in particular to applications sent to our e-mail addresses.
2. Access Data/Server Log Files
2.1. The provider (or their web host) collects data about access to the website (so-called server log files). Access data includes: name of the accessed website, file, date and time of retrieval, amount of data transferred, notification of successful retrieval, browser type and version, the user's operating system, referrer URL (the previously visited site), IP address and the requesting provider.
2.2. The provider uses log data solely for statistical evaluations for the purpose of operation, security and optimisation of the website. However, the provider reserves the right to review the log data retroactively if there is a justified suspicion of unlawful use based on specific indications.
3. Handling of Personal Data
3.1. We automatically collect and store information in server log files that your browser transmits to us. This includes: browser type/version, operating system used, referrer URL (the previously visited page), hostname of the accessing computer (IP address), time of the server request. This data cannot be attributed to specific individuals by the provider. This data is not merged with other data sources, and the data is only used for statistical evaluations.
3.2. Personal data is only collected, used and passed on by the provider if this is permitted by law or if users consent to the data collection.
4. Cookies
Please note that we use cookies when you visit our website for advertising and communication purposes, to carry out registration, requests and for spam prevention (see also www.allaboutcookies.org/ge/). These are small text files that are stored on your device with the help of the browser. We use cookies to make our website user-friendly. Some cookies remain stored on your device until you delete them. They enable us to recognise your browser on your next visit.
4.1. If you do not wish this, you can set up your browser so that it informs you about the setting of cookies and you only allow this in individual cases. Disabling cookies may limit the functionality of our website.
4.2. Session cookie (local): This is a technical cookie with a storage function for user actions within a webpage. It is deleted when leaving the website.
4.3. How cookies can be deactivated, deleted or blocked: The visited website allows individual cookies to be checked/unchecked using the methods illustrated below, provided with the note that full use of the website can no longer be guaranteed if deactivated.
5. Web Analytics
5.1. Our website uses features of the web analytics service Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Inc. (“Google”) in the USA, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway Mountain View, CA 94043. Cookies are used for this purpose, which enable an analysis of the use of the website by its users. The information generated is transferred to the provider's server and stored there. You can find more information on how Google Analytics handles user data in Google's privacy policy at the following link: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245?hl=de
5.2. You can prevent this by setting your browser so that no cookies are stored. The information generated by cookies about your use of this website (including your IP address) is transmitted to a Google server and stored there. Google will use this information to evaluate the use of the website and to compile reports on website activity. We use this information exclusively for our own market research and to optimise the design of the website.
5.3. Google may also transfer this information to third parties where required to do so by law, or where such third parties process the data on Google's behalf. Google will not associate your IP address with any other data. You can prevent the installation of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser software. However, please note that if you do this you may not be able to use the full functionality of this website. By using this website, you consent to the processing of data about you by Google in the manner and for the purposes set out above.
5.4. If you do not want your anonymised data to be used for website analytics, you can find an opt-out tool here: GA-OptOut.
5.5. Your data is processed here on the basis of our legitimate interest or that of a third party for the purpose of the websites and the improvement of our services. The relationship with the web analytics provider is based on an adequacy decision by the European Commission (in the case of the USA: “Privacy Shield”).
5.6. Data processing is furthermore carried out on the basis of the statutory provisions of Section 96 Para 3 TKG as well as Art 6 Para 1 lit f (legitimate interest) of the GDPR. Our concern within the meaning of the GDPR (legitimate interest) is the improvement of our offering and our website presence.
6. IP Anonymisation
We use the “Activate IP Anonymisation” feature. As a result, your IP address is truncated by Google within member states of the EU or in other contracting states to the EEA prior to transmission. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and truncated there. On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activity and to provide other services related to website activity and internet usage to the website operator. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics will not be merged with other Google data.
7. Your Rights
You generally have the rights to information, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability, revocation and objection. If you believe that the processing of your data violates applicable data protection law or that your data protection claims have been violated in any other way, you can lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority at any time. In Austria, this is the Data Protection Authority (Datenschutzbehörde):

Addition for this website (as of October 2026)
Cookies & consent
We use analytics and marketing services (Google Analytics 4, Google Ads conversion tracking, Meta Pixel, and Hotjar on our booking pages). These are loaded when the page is called up; on your first visit, we inform you about this in a banner. You can object to their use there or at any time via "Cookie settings" in the footer ("Reject"); after that, these services will no longer be loaded. We save your choice locally in your browser (localStorage "sqft_consent"). Technically necessary storage (e.g. during booking) is based on our legitimate interest or to initiate a contract.
Meta Pixel
We use the Meta Pixel from Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd. (Merrion Road, Dublin 4, Ireland) to measure the effectiveness of our ads on Facebook and Instagram. Page views and actions (e.g. clicks on phone or email, submitted forms) are transmitted as events to Meta; data transfer to the US cannot be excluded. You can object to its use via "Cookie settings" in the footer.
Hotjar
On certain booking pages, we use Hotjar (Hotjar Ltd., Malta) to improve usability. Hotjar anonymously records mouse movements, clicks, and scroll behaviour; entries in form fields are not recorded. Its use depends on your cookie settings.
Google Maps
On the location overview and – after clicking "Load interactive map" – on the location pages, we embed Google Maps (Google Ireland Ltd.). Your IP address is transmitted to Google. If you use the "Near me" feature, your browser will ask for permission to use your location; the coordinates are processed solely in the browser and are not saved.
Booking and enquiries
The data entered in the booking form (name, contact details, address, date of birth for online payments, selected unit, and duration) are transmitted in encrypted form to our customer management system and our office to process your booking or enquiry and create the contract. You will receive a confirmation by email. To protect against misuse, form inputs are checked automatically (honeypot, time check, rate limiting per IP address).
Online payment with Stripe
At locations with instant booking, payments are processed via Stripe Payments Europe Ltd. Your payment details are entered directly at Stripe and processed there; we do not receive complete card data. Stripe places its own cookies for fraud prevention as soon as the payment step loads.
Embedded content
360° virtual tours and videos on location pages are only loaded after you click (two-click solution). Only then is data transmitted to the respective provider (e.g. Momento360, YouTube).
Server logs
When you access our pages, our hosting provider automatically saves technical access data (IP address, time, page accessed, browser) in server log files to secure operations. Logs are deleted automatically after a short period.
Your rights
You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, and data portability, as well as the right to revoke consent given at any time. Simply write to us at info@sqft.ch.
